Kevin DyeResident Agent in Charge, United States Secret Service/Dayton
Kevin is the new manager of the Southern District of Ohio Financial and Electronic Crimes Task Force. The task force is responsible for criminal investigations of electronic crimes from Columbus, Ohio to Northern Kentucky and partners with hundreds of task force members from numerous federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. He returned to the area in May from Washington DC where he most recently was the Spokesperson for the Secret Service in the Office of Government and Public Affairs.
Kevin holds undergraduate and graduate degrees and is a graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and the United States Secret Service Training Academy. He was in the first Basic Seized Computer Evidence Recovery Course (BSCERS) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in the mid 1990’s and completed the Advanced Seized Computer Evidence Recovery Course in 1998. He has CIS 2000 Internet Forensics Training Certification, Wireless Intercept Certification and UNIX/LINUX Computer Hacking Certification through the National Security Agency. He became an instructor for the U.S. Secret Service Training Academy in 2000 and created the first BICEP course work for Special Agents in 2001. In 2002 he completed the Electronic Crimes Task Force Certification and Wireless Networking Certifications through the Secret Service.
A former member of the Presidential Protective Division from 2005 – 2010, he returned to the forensics arena completing Access Data’s (FTK) Computer Forensics Training Certification, Encase Computer Forensics Training Certification, and Trustwave Point of Sale Incident Response Training.
He has been a guest speaker at Johns Hopkins University Graduate School, the International Law Enforcement Academy in Budapest Hungary, and the International Law Enforcement Academy in Bangkok Thailand. He has been previously assigned to the London Police Department and New Scotland Yard as a liaison expert in computer forensics.
